I am beyond thrilled to announce that I have been accepted into the MBA Management program at the Florida Institute of Technology! This opportunity is a stepping stone in my educational journey and a culmination of years of determination, growth, and resilience. As a Marine Corps veteran with nine years of service, I understand the importance of continuing education, especially for military members. The 9/11 GI Bill has given me a unique opportunity to further my education. I wholeheartedly believe in its mission to empower veterans to pursue their academic and professional goals. Education is a powerful tool that opens doors and creates opportunities.
It's been nearly a decade since I embarked on my quest to complete my bachelor's degree. I changed my significant multiple times, each shift revealing more about my passions and interests. The path needed to be more linear. I juggled the challenges of transitioning out of the Marine Corps and being a single parent to three young children, all while managing a small business. The chaos of life led me on a winding road, teaching me lessons in perseverance and self-discovery. I also faced the emotional work of healing childhood wounds and overcoming traumatic experiences.
This journey has taught me valuable lessons that I carry with me today. One is believing in yourself and overcoming excuses. Life will constantly throw challenges, but setting strong boundaries around your time, energy, and focus is essential, including establishing boundaries with family and friends. Although your loved ones may want the best for you, not everyone will be on board with your ambitions. Embrace your successes, even if they invite discomfort from others. It's normal to have bad days, and it's okay to rest when you need to! But what matters most is that you keep moving forward. Trust your intuition—it often knows the way better than you. Dare to live your life to the fullest and pursue your dreams relentlessly. It's never too late to start anew or chase after the goals that ignite your passion.
As I prepare to continue on this next chapter at Florida Tech, I am grateful for the support I have received. I am excited to dive into the dynamic learning environment that Florida Tech offers, surrounded by professors who genuinely care about student success and a community of scholars eager to innovate and excel. Thank you for being a part of my journey! I cannot wait to share more experiences as I enter this new adventure. Here's to believing in ourselves, chasing our dreams, and creating a brighter future!
